PromoterWorkshop CIPRLBrief IntroductionThe Friday night of the Westway LAB begins with the concert film The House of Trubnaia Square, by soviet filmmaker Boris Barnet, composed and musicalized live by Adolfo Luxúria Canibal, António Rafael and Miguel Pedro, who perform as Mão Morta Redux, a reduced format that marks a return to the period when the group was composed of only three elements. Considered an outsider of Soviet silent cinema, Boris Barnet leads us through a satire of the hypocrisy of the small bourgeoisie, who had survived in the USSR to the Revolution and who continued, sneakily, to exploit the needy. With the help of cinema, the music thus gains greater amplitude on stage with mão morta, a cult group and one of the most respected by the Portuguese public, which already has more than 30 years of career. The Lemon Lovers were born in Porto in 2012, in a blues and rock n roll environment. The first long-running work, Loud, Sexy & Rude, appears in 2015, having been recorded in Madrid and mastered by Brian Lucey, who has worked with bands such as Artic Monkeys or The Black Keys. After touring the Portuguese theaters with their second album, Watching the Dancers, and launching themselves on the road to conquer Europe, The Lemon Lovers return to the recording edition and bring to Westway LAB the third album of the same name, with a renewed lineup. Miramar is a project that brings together two figureheads of Portuguese music: Frankie Chavez and Peixe. Although they come from different latitudes and have distinct experiences, both are united by their work with the guitar. Peixe began to take the eye out more than 20 years ago, signing the muscular and unmistakable sound of the mythical Violet Ornatos, but this was just the beginning of a long and rich journey. Inspired by folk, blues and the most classic rock, Frankie Chavez has been affirming himself since 2010 as one of the most stimulating musicians of his generation. Together and only armed with an instrument that has become their natural extension, Frankie Chavez and Fish take us to places where we've never been and they haven't.
