    Description

PromoterFoundation EastBrief IntroductionWith Filipa Silva*The practice of vegetarianism, previously associated with spiritual practices adopted by Buddhist monks and other religions of the world, begins to be increasingly recognized as a healthy diet, which helps reduce cardiovascular problems, cancer, obesity, hypertension or diabetes and prediabetes, reflecting an increase in the longevity and well-being of the human being. In Japan there was an essentially vegetarian practice for about 1200 years, in which meat consumption was prohibited and fish only consumed on very special occasions, being this country on the list of countries with the highest average life expectancy. In addition, a vegan/vegetarian diet is more economical compared to other diets. In this workshop we will use oriental knowledge to talk about foods essential to a healthy vegetarian diet and ways to relate them, adapting this knowledge to the West and to modern science/current affairs. We will also talk about how food should be adjusted to the seasons and the environment, in order to be healthier and also more sustainable, respecting our internal environment and the environment that surrounds us. Registration until 15 October.*Filipa Silva has a degree in Macrobiotics, Health and Self-Transformation (2012/15) and with specialization in Counseling and Communication (2015), from the Macrobiotic Institute of Portugal, where she collaborated and was an assistant since 2015. She holds a degree in Applied Mathematics to Economics and Management (1997/2001) and a Master's degree in Applied Econometrics and Forecasting (2003/2005), from ISEG of the University of Lisbon.Opening HoursThursday 19.00 to 20.00 Participants in the face-to-face session: min.
