PromoterMunicipality of Vila Nova de FamalicãoBrief IntroductionClose-Up - Cinema Observatory of Vila Nova de Famalicão Episode 5, from 10 to 17 OctoberConcert Movie: The GOLDEN AGE of Luis Buñuel BLACK BOMBAY & LUÍS FERNANDESOctober 10, Saturday, 21:45Large AuditoriumEntrance: 6 euros / Quad card, Students, Seniors, Members of film clubs: 3 eurosM/12 yearsDuration: 65 minutesOPENING NIGHTThe GOLDEN AGE of Luis BuñuelBuñuel and Dali provoked a revolution with their surrealist essay "The Andalusian Dog", one of the most famous avant-garde films ever. The Golden Age, Buñuel's first solo work, is his most provocative film and a true manifesto of surrealism in cinema. Violently anticlerical, here are all the obsessions of Buñuel's future cinema. After violent reactions at its premiere in 1930 the film was banned, only returning to theaters more than half a century later. In the opening session of the fifth episode of Close-up, the intersection of Black Bombay rock and Luís Fernandes' electronics, the concert film of Luis Buñuel's inescapable film is presented in its debut: L' âge d' OrDirector: Luis BuñuelDuration: 65 minutesOrigin: FranceGenre: FictionClassification Age: M/12 yearsYear: 1930BLACK BOMBAY & LUÍS FERNANDESCollective born of the effervescent movement of new bands out of Barcelos in the late 1990s, the Black Bombay are today a clear case of success and worship. Owners of what is probably the most fascinating psych rock with national source, they have edited seven albums throughout their career, to which they join a handful of collaborations in the composition of music and shows that intersect it with other artistic areas. To highlight, the album edited with the reference Peter Brotzman, the work with La La Ressonance, the cine-concert (now also edited on disc) with the collaboration of percussionist João Pais Filipe and the collaborative work with Jonathan Saldanha, Pedro Augusto and Luís Fernandes. Musician, sound artist and cultural programmer, Luís Fernandes is the founder of the band Peixe: avião and has maintained solo work and as a collaborator of multiple projects. In recent years, his duo with the pianist Joana Gama, with whom he edited 4 albums, collaborated with Ricardo Jacinto, José Alberto Gomes, Drumming GP, Orquestra Metropolitana and the Guimarães Orchestra. It composes music for cinema and installations, with performances at the Festivals of Cannes, Locarno or Triennale di Milano. Since 2014, there have been three meetings between Luís Fernandes and the Black Bombay. What began with a collaboration on one of the themes of Far Out, the third album of the Barcelos collective, evolved into the construction and recording of the joint album they shared with La La Ressonance and the collaborative album edited via Lovers & Lollypops in 2019, alongside two other Northern producers. At the fourth meeting, the band and the musician will give a new life to L'Age d'Or, a film by The Spanish master Luis Buñuel, in a cine concert to be presented in a premiere at the Casa das Artes de Famalicão.CLOSE-UP - Cinema na Cidade5º episode, from 10 to 17 October at the Casa das Artes de FamalicãoIn an edition adapted to the constraints we live, to safeguard the safety of the spectators, but without giving up the importance of the relationship of the public with the cinema, the fifth edition of the Close-up is designed guided by the relations of cinema with the City, in the usual encounter between fiction and documentary, contemporary production and history of Cinema.PricesPlateia - 6 DiscountsHip StudentsSeniors
